Adnan Haider Randhawa

Mr. Adnan Haider Randhawa is the founder and managing partner of the firm. He is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. After having an experience of law practice which he joined in 2004, he decided to deepen his understanding and bolster his practical knowledge of how the state operates. He secured top positions in multiple competitive examinations including CSS and PCS to join civil services of Pakistan where he experienced different constitutional provisions at play. During his exposure to public sector as a civil servant spanning about eight years, he served in various government organizations in the fields of diplomacy, international law, excise, taxation and jail administration.

He rejoined legal practice in 2011 from Islamabad where he focused mainly on constitutional practice. He predominantly practices before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad and the Islamabad High Court (IHC).  He has successfully contested more than 400 cases before the IHC relating to constitutional, taxation, customs, commercial, election and services matters. He also appears before the Lahore High Court and the Peshawar High Court. In special cases, he appears before the subordinate judiciary and Tribunals as well.

Mr. Randhawa has also been involved in many successful challenges to the vires of taxation and customs laws.

He also enjoys a reputation of being an expert in the practice of white-collar crimes (FIRs, criminal complaints and show-cause notice relating to money laundering, benami, taxation and customs.), especially in the context of judicial review by the Constitutional Courts. Many successful challenges where criminal proceedings in the white-collar crimes have been quashed or suspended, are to his credit.

He has successfully represented many corporate clients in the Constitutional Courts including Askari Bank, Three Gorges First Wind Farm, Trans World Associates, Trans World Infrastructure Service, Alcatel (Nokia), DAI Pakistan, Green Appliances, FF Steel, Hunbul Tex, Fauji Meat, Concern Worldwide Pakistan, Sachal Energy Development. The public sector clients include Federal Board of Revenue, National Highway Authority, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, Islamabad Electric Supply Company, Peshawar Electric Supply Company.

He studied law at Punjab University (2003), Clingendael, The Hague (2008), The Hague Academy of International Law (2009), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London (2009) and China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing (2011).

He has also learnt different municipal and international laws during his time at China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing (2011), Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad (2008), The Civil Services Academy, Lahore (2007).

Adnan Haider Randhawa is frequently appointed as Amicus Curiae in complex taxation matters, human rights issues and media freedom cases.
He happily takes pro bono cases involving issues of the marginal groups and the vulnerable individuals of the society.

Many of his judgments have been reported in law journals of Pakistan.
